Festival of Vigan City

         The Vigan Festival, which honors the Ilocanos, takes place in Vigan City, Philippines. The Ilocanos perform it every year to showcase their vibrant community and rich cultural heritage. Reflecting on what I had seen during the Vigan festival, I was instantly struck with awe and admiration for the cultures that were on show. This festival attracts a wide range of interesting events that entice guests to remain and witness the breathtaking performances. The second week of February marks the annual Vigan Festival of the Ilocanos, which features street games, musical performances, traditional dances, and vibrant parades. Juan de Salcedo, a Spanish explorer, came in the Ilocos province in 1572 and



    This festival features a variety of events and activities, including as street dance, cooking competitions, and parades, that showcase the numerous longganisa variants. It is a vibrant event that pays homage to the longganisa flavors, culture, and culinary heritage of the area.


    During the festival, local and traditional cuisines werefeatured, allowing visitors to savor the unique flavors of Ilocano cuisine. A variety of traditional Vigan cuisine is often available for sampling by both visitors and residents throughout the festival, in addition to culinary competitions, cooking demonstrations, and food exhibits.
