Jose Rizal, the face of the Philippines
It is unlikely that historical accounts of the Philippines would no longer mention Jose Rizal. He has contributed significantly to both the Filipino people's struggle for independence and other breakthroughs in a range of fields. Rizal also contributed contributions to Philippine art, literature, and medicine, all of which continue to inspire his countrymen.
Among Rizal's most significant achievements are his writings, which pushed for social and political transformation in the Philippines. His books "El Filibusterismo" (The Reign of Greed) and "Noli Me Tangere" (Touch Me Not) revealed the wrongdoings, brutality, and abuses carried out by the Spanish colonial administration.
